Keynote Speakers

Paula Kluth, Ph.D., is a consultant, teacher, author, advocate, and independent scholar who works with teachers and families to provide inclusive opportunities for students with disabilities and to create more responsive and engaging schooling experiences for all learners. Her research and professional interests include differentiating instruction, and supporting students with autism and significant disabilities in inclusive classrooms.

Dr. Kluth is the author of You're Going to Love This Kid!" Teaching Students with Autism in the Inclusive Classroom, and the co-author of the newly published You're Welcome: 30 Innovative Ideas for the Inclusive Classroom. She is also the co-author of three new published books: A Land We Can Share: The Literate Lives of Students with Autism; Joyful Learning: Active and Collaborative Structures for the Inclusive Classroom; and Just Give Him the Whale! 20 Ways to Use Fascinations, Areas of Expertise, and Strengths to Support Students with Autism.

Temple Grandin, Ph.D., is inarguably the most accomplished and well-known adult with autism in the world. She is known world wide for her work on the design of livestock handling facilities. In North America half the cattle are handled in systems she has designed. She has been featured on major television programs, such as "ABC's Primetime Live", the "Today Show", "Larry King Live", "48 Hours" and "20/20" and written up in national publications, such as Time magazine, People magazine, Forbes, U.S. News and World Report, and New York Times. Among numerous other recognitions by media, Bravo Cable did a half-hour show on her life, and she was one of the "challenged" people featured in the best-selling book, Anthropologist from Mars.
She presently works as an Associate Professor at Colorado State University but also speaks around the world on both autism and cattle handling.
Dr. Grandin's current best seller is Animals in Translation. She also authored Thinking in Pictures; Emergence: Labeled Autistic; Developing Talents; and Unwritten Rules of Social Relationships.
